Synovial-Flex Joint Care Soft Chews are convenient to use and dogs love the taste. You could think of them as extremely healthy dog treats. Unfortunately, the chews contain very little DHA or EPA, essential Omega 3 fatty acids that are especially important for dogs with inflammatory problems like arthritis. When using the soft chews, you must also supplement with a good source of Omega 3s like fish oil capsules, cod liver oil, or the new Derma 3 chew crumbles. When used this way, Synovial-Flex chews are fun to use and can be part of an excellent arthritis therapy program. They are not, as the manufacturer would have you believe, “a truly complete geriatric supplement for your pet”.
A large (60 – 80 lb.) arthritic dog should receive 2 soft chews twice daily and two teaspoonfuls cod liver oil (or the equivalent) once daily. For larger or smaller dogs use proportionately more or less.
Each dose (2 soft chews) contains:
Glucosamine HCl 1000 mg
Methysulfonylmethane (MSM) 1000 mg
Creatine Monohydrate 200 mg
Perna Canaliculus 300 mg
Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) 18 mg
Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) 12 mg
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) 10 mg
Vitamin E 50 IU
